Need to find a recipe for the next family reunion? Looking for a new project to spice up your home? Many of us would flock to Pinterest to find the answers to these very serious questions but did you know it is great place to build your brand as well?

Pinterest, an online pinboard and invite only social network, was founded in 2010 and has grown 2000% since June 2011. Though it may take some time to pin, organize, and share things you love, it will be worth it because you will attract an audience. Here are some tips on how to build your brand with Pinterest by John Brandon from Inc. magazine:

  • Build relationships with people who typically have quality ‘pins’
  • Maintain its simplicity
  • Connect your cyber location and your physical location
  • Ensure your business is compatible with the Pinterest posse
  • Point your current followers to Pinterest
  • Pin daily
  • Pin products from other companies as well as your own
  • Follow the big shot pinners, they will probably return the favor
  • Weed out the good from bad pins
